Déjà Vu New Year's Eve BY F. IMOGENE WHITE, Vice Chargée de Presse ORLANDO BAILLIAGE MEMBERS took the term "after-party" to a new level by continuing their New Year's revelry nearly a week into 2018. On January 6, they rang in the new year at Le Coq au Vin restau- rant—the acclaimed Orlando cornerstone owned by Conseiller Culinaire et des Professionnels National Reimund Pitz and Maître de Table Restaurateur Sandy Pitz. A sense of merri- ment permeated every aspect of the evening. Party favors, hats, songs (both upbeat and nos- talgic), and, of course, champagne contributed to the celebratory ambi- ance. The culinary preparations were as exquisite as they were delicious. Carefully selected wines brought out the sophisticated flavors in each dish. The bailliage's new year also started off with the presentation of several awards. Chef Pitz surprised Vice Chargé de Missions Bill Trippler with a Silver Star of Excellence. In a sweet moment, he awarded a Bronze Star of Excellence his wife, Maître de Table Restaurateur Pitz, followed by the presentation of Bronze Stars of Excellence to Professionnel de la Table Fred Levy and Vice Chargée de Presse F. Imogene White. The evening offered a nod to both past and future—and attendees hope their future includes more wonderful nights like this one!
