April in Paris BY TONY HIRSH, South Central Bailli Provincial I never knew the charm of spring…till April in Paris... ONE OF THE WORLD'S most famous songs, "April in Paris" has been recorded by many great artists, includ- ing Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and Count Basie, whose 1955 recording was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. It truly felt like "April in Paris" for Myrtle Beach Bailliage members at Brentwood Restaurant & Wine Bistro on April 15, 2018. Owner/ Chef/Maître Rôtisseur Eric Masson created an enchanting French meal paired with French wines selected by Vice Echanson Ry Tipton. A graduate of the prestigious Ferrandi Culinary School, Chef Masson trained and cooked in Paris and London before settling in the Myrtle Beach area twenty years ago. The Brentwood is housed in a beautiful Victorian mansion that is said to be inhabited by ghosts. Fortunately for attend- ees, the only spirits they encountered that evening were the ones they drank! The French cuisine and ambiance made it easy for diners to imagine being on the Champs-Elysées with spring breezes drifting across the Seine. After their last bite of crème anglaise and final sip of Banyuls, they boarded the bus for the sleepy trip home.
