The Courage to Serve BY BEVERLY MENTZER, Vice Chargée de Presse MEMBERS OF THE U.S. Armed Forces have coura- geously served around the world to ensure peace and security at home. The Lacs et des Bois Bailliage broke out the red, white, and blue on May 19 in honor of Armed Forces Day. Confrères and their family members who have served were celebrated at Perry's Steakhouse & Grille in The Woodlands, Texas. Executive Chef Dan Morgan and his team set the stage for the delectable five- course dinner with an amazing shrimp and escargot appetizer. General Manager Jonathan Reyes coordinated the selec- tion of six stunning French wines. Dinner closed with a patriotic raspberry macaroon, complemented by Château Guiraud Sauternes—sweet, indeed! The evening's honorees represented many facets of the Armed Forces. Vice Chancelier-Argentier Les Jones and Vice Chancelier-Argentier Honoraire Ralph Daigle served in the National Guard. Marsha Cutler shared her musical talents with the USO. Chevalier Arron Angle was active in the Marines. Dame de la Chaîne Janie Mathis was "on the move" as the daughter of a career Air Force officer. Skip Westcott served in the Army. Bailli Cheryl Kenny recognized the outstanding culinary and service teams with pins and presented Chef Morgan and General Manager Reyes with a Chaîne cer- tificate to commemorate this special event.
