Spectacular BY ISABELLA OVEREND, Caribbean/Atlantic Islands Chargée de Presse Provincial/Nassau Bailli THE FUN STARTED when Commonwealth Brewery Ltd. Wine Brand Manager Therese Demeritte let Chargée de Presse Provincial/Bailli Isabella Overend know the grandson of the founder of Santa Margherita Vineyards would be in Nassau to introduce some new wines. Thus, Nassau Bailliage members convened at the Ocean Club on March 21, 2018 to meet Santa Margherita Business Development Manager Giacomo Marzotto, who charmed all in attendance. The group proceeded to Dune by Jean-Georges Vongerichten res- taurant, where the all-white décor set off the gorgeous orchids adorning the tables. Floor-to-ceiling windows provided spectacular views of the island's white beaches and turquoise waters. Chef de Cuisine Lester Dean and Chef Rôtisseur Richmond Fowler II described each dish as it was served, after which Mr. Marzotto introduced the wine accompaniment. Diners moved to the terrace to enjoy Executive Pastry Chef Angel Betancourt's white peach Bellini served like a popsicle in a plastic bag. The cre- ative intermezzo provided relief from the scorching heat. The restaurant team and Mr. Marzotto were each presented with special plates inscribed with the eve- ning's menu. The guest of honor flew in from Italy, hosted the dinner, and returned home all within twenty- four hours—one of the many reasons that Nassau confrères felt so honored to share the table with him.
