Tri-Bailliage Sojourn BY BEVERLY MENTZER, Lacs et des Bois Vice Chargée de Presse , AND CHRISTINE HOLLINDEN, Houston Vice Chargée de Presse "I LOVE TO go a-wandering" begins a beloved children's song that has sparked the imaginations of many over the years. On March 22, 2018, Lacs et des Bois, Houston, and Étoile Solitaire confrères came together for a special Mondiale experience titled "Tri-Bailliage Sojourn." They wandered not so much through space but through an experience that engaged their senses, particularly of taste, smell, and sight. Houston Vice Chargée de Presse Christine Hollinden and Chevalier Jeff Hollinden graciously hosted the event at their lovely home. Sojourn Cellars Director of Marketing Sherrie Perkovich and Director of Hospitality Amanda Murphy led an entertaining, informa- tive tasting of several of the operation's exemplary wines, which were accompanied by an array of cheeses, charcuterie, and chocolate. The highly acclaimed Sonoma winery is known for sourcing the finest fruit from celebrated vineyards and for adopting a hands-off winemaking style to showcase the character and personality of each vineyard. Sojourn Cellars graciously donated 10% of all purchases from this tasting to support the Chaîne's Young Sommeliers Competition. The three baillis presented the Hollindens with an engraved Chaîne plate. Plato observed that "Life is but a sojourn. Enjoy the best of it." This wine tasting was a remarkable journey of the senses.
