Riedel Me This BY ERICA NELSON, Dame de la Chaîne AT GRAND CRU Food & Wine restaurant on February 11, 2018, the Wilmington Bailliage enjoyed an exceptional dinner featuring wines served in Riedel Veritas glassware. Co-Owner/Professionnel du Vin Bill Conely hosted the event, while General Manager Russell Snyder III ensured that the evening progressed seamlessly. Since opening in 2016, Grand Cru has found a sweet spot as a wine bar that offers amazing cured meats, global cheeses, and small plates. Executive Chef David Coppola is a well-known culi- nary talent in the area. The venue earned Wilmington magazine's "Best of Wilmington" award in 2017 and was voted the city's most romantic restaurant in a Port City Foodie poll. Brillat-Savarin Chancelier Délégué Honoraire Georges Muller, a Riedel Ambassador, led attendees through a series of tastings, pointing out the complexities of the Riedel glasses and how each was designed to bring out the best in a specific wine. He also gave a short history of winemaking and traced the various types of containers used for drinking wine throughout the ages. At the end of this fun and educational evening, attendees received sets of four Riedel Veritas wineglasses to take home.
