at Millwright's BY JENNIFER GARDNER, Vice Chancelier-Argentier JAMES BEARD AWARD semifinalist and Top Chef celebrity contestant Owner/Chef Tyler Anderson wel- comed Hartford Bailliage members to Millwright's Restaurant on March 4, 2018 for a bravura culinary performance. A former mill with log beams and rafters hung with authentic milling implements perched above the Hop Brook Creek waterfall, this 1680 structure is as spectacular a build- ing as one finds in New England. The restau- rant's top level features a unique loft space, complete with dining tables, bar, and demo kitchen. This is where the Chaîne dinner was held. French and other European influences are evident in Chef Anderson's delicious farm-to-table comfort food. He has twice been named "Chef of the Year" by the Connecticut Restaurant Association. The same organization honored Pastry Chef Kristin Eddy with the "Rising Star of the Year" award in 2017. Her dessert of cara- mel tart with crisp milk chocolate and whipped crème fraîche was an impressive finale to the meal. From rolled kohlrabi and sesame with sorrel vin- aigrette prepared in front of diners by Chef Anderson, to the beautifully presented smoked Wagyu beef sirloin, the dinner was exceptional in every way, including the warm hospitality of the staff and their pitch- perfect service.
