Wine Dinner BY WES SCHEMMER, Vice Chargé de Presse SEDONA BAILLIAGE MEMBERS thank Owner/Chef/ Maître Rôtisseur Gerardo Moceri, Guest Chef Shawn Lawrence, and Winemaker Susie Selby for orchestrat- ing an amazing evening for them at Gerardo's Italian Kitchen on November 19, 2017. More than fifty confrères attended the event. After training in his native country of Italy, Chef Moceri spent years working in some of Hawaii's best restaurants. He and Chef Lawrence have been longtime friends. Together, they designed a delicious four- course menu to match Winemaker Selby's lovely sauvignon blanc, zinfandel, merlot, and special port. Susie Selby and her father, David Selby, established their win- ery in 1994. After David Selby's sudden death in 1997, his daughter took over as the sole owner and opera- tor. Selby wines have been served at the White House across four administrations to guests running the gamut from foreign leaders to actors. This is a point of pride for the winery, whose motto is, "Enjoy wine; enjoy life." According to its website, "That expression, like the wines, is a reflection of the passion, the fun and the enjoyment that Susie and Dave shared."
