Induction Dinner at the Union League BY PAUL KOULOGEORGE, Mid-Atlantic Chargé de Presse Provincial THE PHILADELPHIA BAILLIAGE'S annual black-tie induction dinner was held at the Union League Golf Club at Torresdale on December 9. Vice Chargée de Missions Linda Knox and Officier Niels Haun co-chaired the elegant event. Chancelier National Ira Falk, with assistance from Bailli Provincial John Fannin III, inducted several new mem- bers into the chapter. In addition, Vice Echanson Eliav Barr, Vice Chargé de Presse Paul Koulogeorge, and Officier Haun were elevated, and Yangming restaurant Owner/Maître Rôtisseur Michael Wei and Executive Chefs Shen Muyang and Vincent Viola received the bail- liage's "Event of the Year" award. As diners were heading toward their seats, they passed by a large window. To their delight, the club's staff had imprinted the Philadelphia Bailliage logo into the freshly fallen snow. This celebration of the chapter's prosperous and busy year would not have been complete without a deli- cious dinner. The highlights included a delicate Alaskan king crab soup with curried cauliflower, accompanied by the floral, lemony Charles Smith Lawrence Vineyard Viognier 2014, and stuffed quail and sausage, matched with the aromatic Pisoni Vineyards Estate Pinot Noir 2008 sourced from the Santa Lucia Highlands.
