Spooktacular at Bella Vita BY WES SCHEMMER, Vice Chargé de Presse SEDONA BAILLIAGE MEMBERS went all out celebrat- ing Halloween on October 29. The ghoulish evening saw pirates, Vikings, TV stars, demons, hippies, and punk rockers. Napoleon Bonaparte and a dino- saur also attended the event. The Sedona Pines Resort is nestled in Red Rock Country, where it is surrounded by natu- ral beauty. Bella vita means "beautiful life," and the resort's five-star Bella Vita Ristorante, with its old-world aes- thetic, certainly lives up to the name. Diners feel as if they have been transported to an earlier time in the clas- sic Italian tradition—a beautiful life indeed! Delicious food and impeccable service were at the center of this spectacular event. Owner/Manager/Maître Restaurateur Dan Cohen and Executive Chef Alberto Salgado designed an outstanding five-course feast for the fifty attendees. The menu highlight was the amazing pairing of filet mignon with mushroom-chianti glaze and Stefano Farina Barolo 2009. At evening's end, thanks and praise were heaped upon the white-gloved staff, who added to the fun by choosing their favorite costumes. Best costume awards were given to Chevalier Tim Thorne as a Civil War soldier and guest Emily Young for her rendition of Progressive Insurance spokeswoman Flo.
