Annual Induction Gala BY B. PROUD, Vice Chargée de Presse ON SEPTEMBER 16, 2017, the First State Bailliage held its annual induction gala at the historic Hotel Du Pont in Wilmington, Delaware. Executive Chef Keith Miller prepared the superb meal. Executive Pastry Chef/Officier Michele Mitchell and Pastry Sous-Chef/ Chef Rôtisseur Leah Steinberger created a spectacular "perfor- mance-art dessert," in which each element was "painted" on table- cloths by chefs. Diners could then assemble their dessert to their preference. The chefs also treated the group to cocktail-inspired macarons . Both the hotel and Chef Mitchell are renowned for their macarons . The evening's inductees were Chevaliers David Anderson and Michael Barko; Dames de la Chaîne Christina Adler and Yan Jin; Maître Hôtelier Laurence Magor; and Maître Restaurateur Miles Brown. Elevations included Bailli Susan Teiser, Chef Mitchell, and Vice Chargée de Médias Sociaux Laura Stimson. Dame de la Chaîne Mary Jane Fannin was hon- ored with a Bronze Star of Excellence. The event co-chairs were Chef Mitchell and Conseiller Culinaire Provincial Thomas Hannum. Committee members were Vice Chancelier-Argentier Michelle Hannum and Bailli Teiser. First State confrères were pleased to be joined by Conseiller Gastronomique Provincial Paul Schulze, Delaware Valley Vice Conseiller Gastronomique Honoraire Jay Deputy, and La Grande Cave du New Jersey Dame de la Chaîne Darien Wilson.
