Induction Dinner BY KATHLEEN BOYLE, Vice Chargée de Presse THE DELAWARE VALLEY Bailliage gathered at the elegant Lacroix at the Rittenhouse restaurant on November 12 to welcome the holiday season and new members. Executive Chef Jonathan Cichon's menu burst with lush, sea- sonal flavors, while Executive Pastry Chef Fred Ortega capped the meal with a deli- cately spiced poached pear. The event dem- onstrated why the restaurant consistently earns, among numer- ous other accolades, the Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence. Bailli Provincial John Fannin III opened by recounting the Chaîne's history and mission as repre- sented on its seal. He graciously officiated the Chaîne inductions and elevations. Other confrères were welcomed into the Mondiale by Grand Echanson Joseph D'Ambrosio. In a delightful surprise presentation, Chambellan Provincial/Bailli Matthew Karstetter awarded a Bronze Star of Excellence to Vice Chargée de Missions Jackie Allen. Also during the ceremony, Vice Chargée de Presse Honoraire Ellen Rosenberg received a Share the Chaîne pin. Members donated various items and experiences for a silent auction to benefit the Chaîne Foundation. One coveted experience was a dinner for eight donated by Maître Rôtisseur Scott Clarke. By evening's end, confrères had raised more than $3,000 for the Chaîne Foundation. All shared in the joy of the season that is known for giving.
