Boisset Wine Dinner BY JIM RAY, Southwest Chargé de Presse Provincial Honoraire THE SAN ANTONIO Mondiale was delighted with Vice Echanson Jeff Degner's suggestion to invite Winemaker/ Napa-Sonoma Vice Chargé de Missions Jean-Charles Boisset to present his wines. Members also agreed that the Dashiell House, owned by Maître de Table Restaurateur Moe Lazri, was the perfect place to hold the event on August 17, 2017. At the recep- tion, attendees greeted the famed winemaker while sipping flutes of his Haute Couture French Bubbles. Winemaker Boisset shared a bit about his life and the history of his family's winery. His passion for wine began during his youth in Vougeot, France. The winery was founded by his parents in 1961. Today, the Boisset collection includes wineries in some of the world's most prestigious ter- roirs in France and California. Every year since 2007, Decanter magazine has included Winemaker Boisset on its list of the fifty most important people in the wine world. He has received many awards for his passion, innovation, and commitment to fine wines. Members were especially enthusiastic to learn more about the wines they were tasting. A raffle of bottles of some of the featured wines closed the memo- rable evening.
