Late Winter Induction Gala BY KAREN SPERRAZZA, Vice Chargée de Presse THE BUFFALO BAILLIAGE'S induction gala took place at the venerable Country Club of Buffalo on February 10. COO/General Manager/Maître Restaurateur Timothy Minahan oversaw the impeccable service that has become the club's calling card. Executive Chef Joseph Piazza created a menu filled with exquisite wintry prepa- rations. This Culinary Institute of America- trained dynamo has helmed the kitchens of four renowned clubs, including the Congressional Country Club in Washington, D.C. Chargée de Presse Provincial/Bailli Helen Cappuccino inducted Dames de la Chaîne Elizabeth Griffiths and Lori Shepherd; Professionnels du Vin Nicholas Corcoran and David Eifrig; Maître Hôtelier Richard Schneider; and Chef Piazza as a maître rôtis- seur. Grand Commandeur Emil Rinderlin and Officier Commandeur Albert Olszowka were recognized for forty and thirty years of membership, respectively. Glasses were raised as Echanson Provincial Andrew Cappuccino and Vice Echanson Sharon Osgood welcomed four con- frères into the Mondiale. The dinner was extraordinary. Grand Commandeur Rinderlin and Bailli Honoraire Robert Leighton dis- cussed the food and wine pairings and offered abundant praise for the chef and his team. Many found cozy spots in the club to bask in the warmth of the evening before braving the cold outside.
