Celebrating a Grand Year BY ROD RICHARDSON, Vice Chargé de Presse ON DECEMBER 10, Kansas City Bailliage members gathered to celebrate the holiday season, herald the new year, and recall the delights of the waning one. The Blue Hills Country Club was brilliantly decorated for the holi- days. Creative hors d'oeuvres and sparkling rosé helped chase away the winter chill for arriving attend- ees. Credit for the evening's haute cuisine and fine wine selections goes to Executive Chef/ Director of Food and Beverage Todd Walline and Food and Beverage Manager Connor Stirland. The evening began with Bailli Mike Foster honoring Dame de la Chaîne Ruth Wendel with her officier com- mandeur pin and Chevalier Richard Cronemeyer with his grand commandeur pin for thirty and forty years, respectively, of membership in the Kansas City Bailliage. Their commitment and support over the years have been appreciated. Bailli Foster then highlighted the many events planned for 2018 as the chapter continues to grow in both number and the culinary excellence of its events. Confrères thoroughly enjoyed the four-course meal, served with superb wines. Before departing, they thanked Chef Walline, Food and Beverage Manager Stirland, and the club's talented staff for orchestrating a perfect event to close 2017.
