Dream Dinner at Michel Bras BY ROBIN DU BRIN, Pacific Northwest Chargée de Presse Provincial/Seattle Vice Chargée de Presse AS SEATTLE BAILLIAGE members approached the Windsor Hotel TOYA on February 4, they felt as if they were on a James Bond movie set. The building's design is reminiscent of a cruise ship, with ski lifts heading down the hill in one direction toward the Sea of Japan and in the other to La Toya Crater Lake. All of this while the sunset created a golden hue on the landscape—pure magic! Confrères had come to Michel Bras Toya Japan to experience one of the top ten French restaurants outside of France, and what an experience it was! They were welcomed by Restaurant Manager Guillaume Vegreville, who escorted them to the kitchen to meet Chef/Director Simone Cantafio. What came next was simply one of the best meals Seattle Bailliage mem- bers have ever had. With the help of Restaurant Manager Vegreville, they chose the wonderful Mas Jullien Côteaux du Languedoc 1999 to enjoy with the nine-course Discovery Menu of the Day. A heartfelt thank-you to the Michel Bras team and in particular to Chef Cantafio and Restaurant Manager Vegreville, who saw to attendees' every need as they experienced what was clearly the dinner of a lifetime!
