Dinner and Dance BY JIM RAY, Southwest Chargé de Presse Provincial ON DECEMBER 6, sixty-six San Antonio Bailliage members gathered at the San Antonio Country Club for their annual holiday dinner. One of the oldest clubs in the city, the elegant venue was magnificently turned out with seasonal decorations. This event is a favorite among members; one highlight is a live band so that they can dance the night away. Many mem- bers donned leis to get into the spirit of the "Hawaiian Christmas" theme. Banquet Manager Sylvia Cevallos did an extraordinary job on the decorations. Conseiller Culinaire Provincial Honoraire Marvin Jones, who is the club's general man- ager, collaborated with Executive Chef Nelson Millán and Vice Echanson Jeff Degner to create an excellent menu that worked in harmony with the stellar wines. In particular, Château Léoville-Barton St.-Julien 1990 was an outstanding com- plement to Ibérico de Bellota ham carpaccio. As diners sipped glasses of Warre's Vintage Port 1985, another great evening of excellent food, wine, music, and, most important, Chaîne camaraderie drew to a satisfying close.
