a Feast BY DAVID GREENLEE, Vice Chargé de Presse ON DECEMBER 6, Kauai/Oahu Bailliage members gathered for their annual holi- day event at the Oahu Country Club—a gem of a venue nestled in a valley above downtown Honolulu. The elegant setting was augmented by sparkling seasonal décor and the city lights below. After attendees were seated for din- ner, Bailli Kathryn Nicholson and Bailli Provincial Bruce Liebert offered warm words of welcome. Chevalier Rich Turbin then lit a menorah and talked about the traditions it represented. Confrères also took a moment to remember the late Chargée de Presse Provincial Honoraire Julie Honda, who brought wonderful spirit and aloha to the many good times she shared with fellow members. Dame de la Chaîne Tiffany James followed with a holiday homily to mark attendees' many blessings. Between courses and following the meal, a lively musical combo brought people to their feet to dance. As always at Chaîne events, it was the connections and conversations with old friends and new acquaintances that made the eve- ning special.
