The Return of the Boo Dats BY TONY RITTER, Vice Chargé de Presse ON OCTOBER 22, 2015, as the moon rose, the ghostly spirits of the French Quarter began to stir, coming out of their haunts and roaming the streets looking for treats. So, too, were New Orleans Bailliage members en route to their annual Halloween dinner. Ready for their arrival with seasonal delights were Muriel's Jackson Square Co-Owners Rick Gratia and Doug Ahlers. Executive Chef Erik Veney was busy creating ghoulish culi- nary treats for one and all to enjoy. Bailli Yvette Cressend and Argentier National Rufus Cressend hosted the bewitching evening. Attendees were tricked out in their favorite costumes to help set the mood. Vice Chancelier-Argentier William Feibleman and Vice Echanson Wayne Forman had searched the enchanted forest for the perfect witches' brew to accompany the fare. After the magical potions were uncorked and imbibed, a strange mist seemed to overtake the room, casting a spell on those within it. At evening's end, Argentier National Cressend pre- sented Chef Veney with an award of merit on behalf of the New Orleans Chapter. As a werewolf could be heard howling at the moon and vampires could be seen fleeing the light, the Halloween party came to a delicious and satisfying end.
