Induction Dinner BY THELMA NEGLEY, Vice Chargée de Presse THE NAPLES BAILLIAGE'S induction dinner at the Bay Colony Golf Club on March 15 was also a celebration of the chapter's thirty-fifth anniversary. A keepsake pro- gram included a history of the Naples Bailliage as well as photos of its nine baillis. After Bailli Provincial Charles Radlauer inducted twenty-three new mem- bers and elevated Vice Chargé de Missions George Van Setter, Vice Echanson National Honoraire Pete Stiles welcomed twenty-two confrères into the Mondiale. Conseiller Gastronomique Provincial Honoraire Lacey King then gave a moving memorial trib- ute for Vice Echanson Honoraire Charles Haskell. Bailli Roger Weatherburn-Baker described the presti- gious Brillat-Savarin Médaille de Mérite. This year's sole award was presented to Vice Conseiller Culinaire Ruth Manchester. She received a standing ovation, and kudos and congratulations were heaped upon her for what she called "the proudest moment" of her career. Executive Chef/Vice Conseiller Culinaire Honoraire Wilhelm Gahabka prepared an ovation-worthy repast, enhanced by wines selected by Vice Echanson Joey Wendt. There was so much to be exhilarated by that night: a thirty-five-year-old bailliage that is still going strong; a large group of vital new members; and a favor- ite confrère receiving a prestigious award.
