Start Spreading the News BY EMILY KLEIN, Vice Chargée de Presse ON JANUARY 12, New York Bailliage members clicked their heels with enthusiasm while gathering at the University Club of New York for their annual white-tie induction gala. In commemoration of his 100th birthday the previous month, attendees paid tribute to the legend- ary Frank Sinatra—aka "Ol' Blue Eyes." Entertainer Sal Manzo and his band recreated the performance style of Sinatra's heyday as attendees took to the dance floor. In honor of the 100th birthday of Edith Piaf—also in December 2015—songstress Dame de la Chaîne Maxine Linehan performed a moving rendition of "Hymne à L'amour." The swank supper clubs of the mid- twentieth century came to life as diners savored classic dishes inter- preted with imagination and gusto by Executive Chef Robert Bagli. Also during the evening, Chambellan Provincial/ Boston Bailli Marshall Berenson inducted four new members and welcomed two confrères into the Mondiale. In addition, General Manager/Vice Conseiller Culinaire Honoraire John Dorman received his comman- deur pin, and Vice Conseiller Culinaire Simon Antoine, Vice Echanson Charles Curtis, and Echanson Provincial Joseph D'Ambrosio were elevated. A huge thank you to Dame de la Chaîne Barbara Axel, who designed the stylish décor, right down to the fedoras!
