At lunch on Friday, the three finalists were announced: Morgan Harris of the Northwest Region, Steven Gullo of the Mid- Atlantic Region, and Martin Sheehan-Stross of the Pacific Northwest Region. The results were announced at the elegant induction dinner at the Charles Krug Winery. The stakes were high as the winner would go on to represent the United States at the International Young Sommeliers Competition in Liechtenstein. Martin Sheehan- Stross prevailed, with Morgan Harris placing second, and Steven Gullo taking third. Mary Gorman-McAdams, MW, presented Martin with an educational trip to the Bordeaux region, donated by the Conseil Interprofessionnel du Vin de Bordeaux (CIVB). Moët & Chandon also gave the winner six cases of Grand Vintage 2006. The other competitors received generous champagne gifts as well, presented by Moët & Chandon Communications Executive Director Paige Pedersen.
