À Votre Santé Mondiale BY TONY RITTER, Vice Chargé de Presse ON NOVEMBER 12, 2015, the New Orleans Mondiale held its induction dinner at the historic Napoleon House, located in the French Quarter. In 1821, New Orleans Mayor Nicholas Girod, who had inherited the property from his brother, Francis, offered it as a refuge to Napoleon during his exile. While Napoleon, who died in exile, never made it to New Orleans, the building retained his name. In 2015, Ralph Brennan, whose family name is synonymous with New Orleans din- ning, purchased the Napoleon House from the Impastato family. The event was hosted by Officier Harold Bartholomew, along with Argentier National Rufus Cressend and New Orleans Bailli Yvette Cressend. Officier Bartholomew collaborated with Executive Chef Chris Montero to create a culinary experience that would have delighted even Napoleon. During the evening, Argentier National Cressend inducted six members into the Mondiale. Joining the wine subgroup were Chevaliers Gregory Pierce and Aaron Schneider and Dames de la Chaîne Jennifer Elliott, Gillian Pierce, Lacy Rabe, and Tricia Schneider. Before attendees departed, Argentier National Cressend presented an award of merit to Chef Montero and his team for the exquisite cuisine and outstand- ing service.
