The Hundred-Foot , Part 2 BY CHRIS STACY, Vice Chargé de Presse THE HOUSTON BAILLIAGE held the second of its two- part Hundred-Foot Journey event at Artisans Restaurant on October 11, 2015. The sold-out dinner celebrated two of Houston's most beloved and acclaimed chefs: Vice Conseiller Culinaire Kiran Verma, who owns the Indian fine-dining venue Kiran's, and Jacques Fox, owner of the classic French restaurant Artisans. Both establishments are considered world class. While the first cook-off between the two chefs took place at Kiran's, amid Indian décor, this one was held at Artisans, where the din- ing tables were aptly decorated with Eiffel Tower replicas. This wildly popu- lar event has been one of the most creative and successful dining expe- riences the Houston Bailliage has enjoyed in years. These fine chefs challenged each other in course after course, but their warmth and humility toward their guests—and ultimately toward each other— added an element of humanity to the meal. Chef Verma mingled with diners during dinner, and Chef Fox was often seen pouring wine—a rare sight for one so accomplished. This was one sequel that measured up to the original!
