Cattle Barons and Confrères BY KATHY SHAY, Vice Chargée de Presse WALK ALONG WITH Austin Bailliage members as they travel back in time from October 17, 2015, to 1886, through cattle baron Jesse Driskill's namesake hotel. Stroll through the gracious granite and stained-glass lobby to the western bar with its Remington sculp- ture and Longhorn cattle lining the path. Join confrères in the Gentlemen's Club (ladies now allowed!) for their induction cer- emony and then head to the Citadel Room for the black-tie dinner. Such was the setting for a memo- rable evening as Bailli Provincial Bill Salomon inducted Dame de la Chaîne Patsy Eppright and Chevalier Charlie Eppright and elevated Bailli Dennis Shay, Officier Jennifer Jones, and Vice Conseiller Gastronomique Dan Buchanan. Vice Chargée de Presse Kathy Shay received a Bronze Star of Excellence, and Chambellan Provincial Denise Valliant, who was retiring as bailli, was thanked for her generous contributions to the chapter. Executive Chef Troy Knapp produced a meal wor- thy of the elegant occasion. Previously honored as the Hyatt's "Chef of the Year," Chef Knapp is a unique com- bination of fine chef and sommelier, which resulted in a beautifully paired dinner for new and longtime members of the Austin Bailliage.
