Annual Seafood Fest BY JOHN FLAMMANG, Vice Chargé de Presse ON MARCH 14, Bonita Bailliage members held their annual seafood fest at the Club at Barefoot Beach, which ranked second on the 2015 list of Top Ten Beaches in the United States. Former Florida International University Professor Stephen Leatherman issues the list based on fifty criteria, including water and sand quality. Confrères assembled on the ven- ue's third floor, which overlooks the world- famous beach, to watch the gorgeous sunset. Although attend- ees didn't see a green flash at sunset, there was plenty of flash on the menu. At the reception, the seafood display was impressive, and the hand-rolled sushi selections were colorful, tasty, and extensive. For dinner, attend- ees moved to the Shell Dining Room on the second level. During the evening, glasses were raised in remembrance of Maître Rôtisseur Traiteur Henry Rea, who had recently passed away after a brief illness. The seafood fest was his favorite event. Following the meal, Chambellan Provincial/Bailli Susan Vareschi and Vice Conseiller Gastronomique Roger Brunswick thanked Executive Chef Ed Toops, Sous-Chef Kimberly Padgett, and their attentive service staff for a wonderful evening.
